Terms of Use
1) Acceptance of these Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2) License and the Apple Standard EULA
Your use of the App is also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA). If these Terms conflict with the Standard EULA, the Standard EULA controls where applicable.

3) What Yuni does
Yuni is a relationship companion designed to help you navigate day-to-day communication and support by using cycle awareness and mood/phase-based guidance. The App may include features such as:
- entering cycle dates or estimates and viewing an approximate "today" phase,
- daily guidance, mood-matched tips, and what-to-say suggestions for each cycle phase,
- streak tracking, challenges, and weekly recaps,
- reminders and prompts, including optional Live Activities and Lock Screen widgets,
- a "Share with Partner" feature that encodes cycle data into a shareable link — no data is sent to our servers,
- importing cycle history from Apple Health and writing confirmed period dates back — with your permission and entirely on-device,
- educational content and practical tips for communication, planning, and support.
Important: any cycle predictions or phase estimates are inherently approximate and may be wrong.
4) Important: Your data and privacy (and third-party data)
- Your entries (e.g., dates, notes, reminders) are for your personal use.
- Depending on the App version and your settings, data may be stored locally on your device and/or via Apple-provided services (such as iCloud) that you control in iOS settings.
- If you grant Apple Health (HealthKit) access, Yuni reads and writes health data on your device only. No HealthKit data is transmitted to our servers or any third party. You can revoke access at any time in iOS Settings → Health.
- If the App offers optional features that require sending data over the internet (for example, syncing or restoring across devices), we will only do so as needed to provide that feature.
If you enter information about another person (for example, a partner's cycle dates), you represent that you have a lawful basis to do so (including any consent required) and you will not use the App to harass, surveil, or control anyone.
Note: Your device may back up app data depending on your iOS/iCloud settings (for example, iCloud Backup). That is managed by Apple and your settings — not by us.
5) Who can use the App
You must be legally able to accept these Terms in your country. If you are under the age of digital consent where you live, a parent/guardian must consent and supervise your use.
6) Your responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use the App lawfully and not misuse it (e.g., no reverse engineering where prohibited by law, no interference with the App, no unlawful content use).
- Use good judgment when acting on suggestions; you are responsible for your choices and how you communicate with others.
- Keep your device secure and maintain backups if you want to protect your data (we generally can't recover your data if you delete the App, lose your device, or reset it).
7) In-App Purchases and subscriptions
If the App offers paid features via In-App Purchase (IAP):
- Purchases are processed by Apple, and your billing relationship is with Apple.
- Availability, pricing, refunds, and subscription management follow Apple's rules and policies, including the Apple Standard EULA and Apple Media Services terms.
- We may validate purchase status/entitlements using Apple-provided mechanisms.
8) Health / medical disclaimer (very important)
Yuni is provided for informational and educational purposes only. It is not medical advice, not a diagnostic tool, and not intended for contraception, fertility planning, or treatment decisions. If you or your partner have health concerns, seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional.
Data imported from Apple Health (such as cycle history or symptoms) is used for informational guidance only and does not constitute a medical record or diagnosis.
9) Intellectual property
The App, its design, text, UI, and any included assets are owned by us or licensed to us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App except as allowed by law or the Standard EULA.
10) Third-party services
The App relies on the following third-party services:
- Apple (App Store, iOS frameworks, iCloud if enabled) — governed by Apple's terms and policies.
- Adapty (adapty.io) — subscription management and paywall functionality. Adapty receives limited purchase entitlement data to validate and manage your subscription. See Adapty's Privacy Policy.
- PostHog (posthog.com) — anonymous usage analytics hosted in the EU. See our Privacy Policy for details.
- Apple Health (HealthKit) — on-device health data framework. HealthKit data stays on your device and is governed by Apple's privacy policies. Yuni does not transmit HealthKit data externally.
11) Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, accurate, or error-free, or that any guidance will produce specific outcomes.
12) Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
- We are not responsible for losses arising from reliance on estimates or guidance, relationship outcomes, or communications decisions you make.
- We are not responsible for loss of data due to device failure, deletion, OS updates, user action, or third-party services (including Apple backup/sync features).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
13) Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
14) Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice within the App or via the App Store listing where feasible. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
15) Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Courts located in London will have jurisdiction, except where consumer protection laws require otherwise.
